Karl Wilhelm Rudolf Thure von Patkul Russian Рудольф Яковлевич Паткуль (* January 24, 1800 - April 30, 1856 ) was the knighthood captain of the Estonian knighthood .

family

Rudolf von Patkul came from the Patkul family and was a son of Johann Jakob von Patkul (1757-1811) and Charlotte Juliane Luise, née von Helwig (1778-1804). He was married to Alexandrine von Patkul (1807-1887) since November 10, 1830.

Life

Patkul studied law from 1816 to 1817 at the University of Dorpat and then at the University of Heidelberg . In Heidelberg he became a member of the Corps Curonia in 1817 . He was a Swedish cornet , heir to Habbinem ( Ämari ) in Harrien and also owned Nehhat ( Nehatu ), Illust ( Illuste ) and Patzal ( Patsalu ). From 1825 to 1832 he was Knighthood Secretary, then from 1836 to 1841 Knighthood Captain. Otto von Lilienfeld succeeded him in this office. From 1841 to 1849 he was district administrator in Estonia . Later he was involved in the votes in Reval in the winter of 1853 on the new code of law for Estonian farmers.

In Tallinn Cathedral is Patkuls resting place is with an ornate wooden epitaph .
