Patmos Church (Berlin-Steglitz)
The Protestant Patmos Church was in the Gritznerstraße 18-20 of Berlin hamlet Steglitz in Steglitz-Zehlendorf district of Peter teaching corner in the architectural style of the New Objectivity built and on 20 October 1963 inaugurated . The community center , the bell tower and the rectory on Treitschkestrasse are under monument protection .
Structure
The system was based on the idea that everyday life and Sunday of the Patmos congregation, which was separated from Matthäus in 1963 , take place under one roof. The staggered building ensemble is a reinforced concrete skeleton structure made up of penetrating cubic structures that are covered with flat roofs . A covered open corridor leads to the entrance of the community center, which is located back from the street. The corridor forks behind the door. The single-storey community rooms go straight ahead from him on the right, and on the left it goes into the community hall. To the left behind the door the passage, the outer wall of which is glazed, leads along the nave to which it is open. The hall church on a square floor plan is connected to the community hall on the common wall over the entire width by doors. Seen from the outside, the high nave and the low parish hall rise from a single-storey, glazed structure. This glazed walkway illuminates the church hall from three sides, which receives additional light from low upper aisles , which are located between the joists under the ceiling in the otherwise windowless walls. The church hall, which is neither defined by an axis nor by a center, allows a versatile arrangement of the agenda . This free allocation is supported by variable seating replacing fixed church pews. The altar , pulpit and organ are located in the northwest corner of the church hall. The bronze baptismal font was created by Waldemar Otto in 1963 .
Campanile
The campanile consists of four reinforced concrete angles. It is open up to the bell room , in which a bronze bell made of four bells hangs, which was made by Petit & Gebr. Edelbrock in 1964.

notes
- ↑ From the self-portrayal of the community: "Patmos" stands as a code for a place of contemplation. The Revelation of John was written on the island of Patmos , the message of which is that God is greater than injustice and violence.
