Patricio (Pato) Muente (born March 23, 1974 in Buenos Aires ) is a show jumper . Until 2010 he competed in sports for Argentina, since 2011 he has been at the start for Slovenia.

Muente started riding when he was a little boy at Club Hipico del Norte . Later, due to his successful career as a juniors' show jumper, he moved to Club Aleman, Buenos Aires, for which he was able to win two national Argentine championships.

At the age of 17 he was called to America in Argentina by the Olympic trainer and rider Joe Fargis . Building on what he learned here, he opened his own stable, the San Jose Stables, in Middleburg, Virginia in 2000 .

Muente was in Wellington that winter and Middleburg for the rest of the year . He and his team toured national and international tournaments, grand prizes and World Cup qualifications along the east coast. He was one of the 60 best show jumpers in the USA. In 2006 and 2007 he took part in the US Nations Cup in Wellington (Florida) with the Argentine team .

In 2005 he met his wife, Antje Muente (née Armbrust), and they married in Germany in 2009. The first child was born in the United States during a horse show in Wellington, FL. In May 2010 he moved to Germany with his family and has since been based on the farm of his father-in-law Hans-Jürgen Armbrust in Timmerloh .

Since his mother is of Slovenian origin and it makes sense for European equestrian sport, Pato has been competing for the country of Slovenia since 2011. He takes part in national and international tournaments, mostly in Europe, but also in China.

Muente took part in the German Jumping Derby for the first time in 2016 , where he held first place almost until the end of the test, but then came ninth through the subsequent jump-off. He was awarded the style prize. With his 7-year-old youngster Caracho he competed in the tests of the Youngster Cup (CSIYH 1 *), Caracho, who switched to Lucy Davis in June 2016 , was one of three 7-year-old horses that went through the tournament three times without jumping fault points Exams. In June 2016, Patricio Muente played the Hickstead Derby with Zera .

During his second participation in the German Jumping Derby in May 2017, Muente and Zera were the only rider to make no mistakes in the jump-off and thus won the traditional test.
