Patrice Lafargue (born June 22, 1961 in Nevers ) is a French racing driver and entrepreneur.

IDEC-Groupe- and IDEC Sport Racing / Sailing

For many years, Patrice Lafargue has been the owner and CEO of IDEC Groupe , a Paris- based company that deals with real estate development on a grand scale. The IDEC Groupe should not be confused with IDEC Corporation , a group of electromechanics and programmable logic controllers founded in Osaka in 1947 .

The passionate sailor and motorsport enthusiast Lafargue runs IDEC Sport Racing, a motorsport racing team that is active in GT racing , as well as IDEC Sport Sailing with Francis Joyon for offshore sailing.

Career in motorsport

Lafargue began active motorsport in 2006 in the French GT championship. After appearing in the International GT Open , he switched to sports car racing in 2009. After finishing ninth at the Petit Le Mans 2010 , together with Frédéric Da Rocha and Jacques Nicolet , he achieved his best position in sports car racing with fifth place at the 2010 Zhuhai 1000 km race .

In 2011, he competed in both the Le Mans 24-hour race and the Sebring 12-hour race, and in 2015 finished second in the V de V Challenge . A year before that, he won the overall ranking of the Challenge Endurance GT .
