The 13th Petit Le Mans , also the 13th Annual Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda2, Road Atlanta , took place on October 2, 2010 in Road Atlanta and was the ninth round of the American Le Mans Series of this year.

The race

In 2010 the Petit Le Mans was not only a race of the American Le Mans Series, but also the second race of the newly created Intercontinental Le Mans Cup . The first race of this championship was the 1000 km race at Silverstone , which ended with the overall victory of Anthony Davidson and Nicolas Minassian in the factory Peugeot 908 HDi FAP . In Road Atlanta, two works Peugeot met two works Audi R15 TDI . The Peugeots were driven by Franck Montagny , Stéphane Sarrazin , Pedro Lamy , Marc Gené , Alexander Wurz and Anthony Davidson. For Audi went Allan McNish , Rinaldo Capello , Tom Kristensen , Marcel Fässler , André Lotterer and Benoît Treluyer at the start.

From the beginning, an intense four-way battle developed between the Peugeot and Audi prototypes. The Audis dominated the first hours of racing until André Lotterer's car fell behind after the underbody was repaired and the second Audi could no longer follow the high speed of the Peugeots. In the end there was a double victory for the French racing team.
