William "Bill" Sweedler (born October 11, 1966 ) is an American racing car driver and finance manager.

Entrepreneur

Bill Sweedler studied finance at Babson College in Wellesley Massachusetts . After completing his studies, he only worked for Polo Ralph Lauren for four years and then went into business for himself. He founded several companies that deal with the financing of companies and the investment of financial resources. His most recent founding was Tengram Capital Partners , a finance and private equity firm serving small and medium-sized businesses in the United States, where he is also a managing partner. Sweedler is married with a father of three and lives in Westport , Fairfield County , Connecticut, USA .

Career in motorsport

Motorsport started late in 2007 at the age of 41. The entry into GT sport was financed with own money. He contested his first races in the Mazda MX5 Cup , then from 2009 in the American Le Mans Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship . He has been a regular starter in the Sebring 12-hour race since 2010 and finished in 24th place in the Le Mans 24-hour race in 2015 .

His greatest success so far was the overall victory in the GTD classification of the United SportsCar Championship 2015 .
