Andrew "Andy" Meyrick (born September 4, 1985 in Chester ) is a British racing driver .

Career

In contrast to many other racing drivers of his generation, Meyrick did not contest any kart races in his youth. Without any racing experience, he entered Formula Ford in 2005 and celebrated ten victories of the season in the British North-West Pre-90 Formula Ford 1600 Championship . Through various Formula Renault championships , he came to the British Formula 3 championship in 2008 , where he competed in the national races. He finished the championship in fifth place overall.

In the absence of an affordable monoposto cockpit, he switched to the Le Mans Series in 2009 and signed a contract with Colin Kolles to compete in sports car races with his Audi R10 TDI . In 2010 he switched to Dyson Racing in the American Le Mans Series , where he drives a Lola B09 / 86 . In the same year he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans , where he got a short-term cockpit at ORECA . However, he did not drive the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP there , but the ORECA 01 , an open LMP1 Spyder. Together with Soheil Ayari and Didier André , he finished fourth in the overall ranking.
