Patrick Crayton Jamel (* 7. April 1979 in Waxahachie , Texas ) is a former American American football player . He played in the National Football League (NFL) as a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers .

Player career

College career

Patrick Crayton visited in DeSoto the high school . He also played American football there and was used in various player positions. Before joining Northwestern Oklahoma State University , he worked after graduating from high school, initially at a car rental company and in the call center of a credit card company . In college , as in high school, he played in various positions. In the first year he was used as a quarterback , the next three years he was trained as a wide receiver . In all playing years he was elected to the selection team of his college league. In total, he scored 46 touchdowns during his college studies . Crayton received a college degree in health education.

Professional career

In 2004 Crayton was used by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round at 216 point drafted . The late commitment was initially no indication that he would be able to prevail as a professional player. In addition, he suffered several injuries in both the 2004 and 2005 seasons, which limited his playing time. After Tony Romo was able to oust Drew Bledsoe from the position of starting quarterback , Crayton received more time in the offense of the Cowboys and was used as a starter for the first time.
