Drew McQueen Bledsoe (* 14. February 1972 in Ellensburg , Washington ) is a former American American football poker players at the position of quarterback . He played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1993 to 2006 , mainly with the New England Patriots .

Career

Bledsoe attended Washington State University and set several records there. In 1993 he was the first player to be drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round . He played directly as a starter, but could only win five of the 16 games with the team. The following year, 1994, was his most successful. He was elected to the Pro Bowl and became All-Pro . In 2001 the Patriots let Tom Brady, drafted in the sixth round, play due to an injury to Bledsoe. Even after Bledsoe's recovery, Brady continued to play as a starting quarterback . A year later, Bledsoe moved to the Buffalo Bills , where he played quite successfully. However, he moved to the Dallas Cowboys in 2005 , where he played a successful season, but then deteriorated and was replaced by Tony Romo . So he ended his active career after the 2006 season.
