Harrison Samuel "Sam" Francis (born October 26, 1913 in Dunbar , Nebraska , † April 23, 2002 in Springfield , Missouri ) was an American shot putter and American football player .

As a shot putter, he was fourth at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin with 15.45 m.

In 1937 he was starting for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with his personal best of 16.30 m NCAA champion.

In the National Football League (NFL) he played from 1937 to 1938 for the Chicago Bears , 1939 for the Pittsburgh Pirates and from 1939 to 1940 for the Brooklyn Dodgers .
