Myles Lawrence Garrett (* 29. December 1995 in Arlington , Texas ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the defensive ends . He plays for the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League (NFL). In the 2017 NFL Draft , he was the first player to be selected overall.

Garrett was selected as the 1st player in the first round by the Cleveland Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft . He signed on 19 May 2017 his rookie -Vertrag at the Browns with a guaranteed salary of 30.4 million US dollars .

After he missed the first four games of the season due to injury, he got two quarterback sacks on his season debut in week 5 against the New York Jets . Although he was only able to play 11 of the 16 regular season games due to further injuries , he had the most sacks within the team. For the coming season, his teammates voted him defensive captain.

His final breakthrough came in 2018 , when he played all 16 games as a starter . His 13.5 sacks were the sixth and the second most of a Browns player in a season in the league. With 20.5 sacks in the first two seasons, he set a new franchise record. This earned him his first nomination for the Pro Bowl .

In the 21: 7 victory of the Browns in the Thursday Night Game against division rivals Pittsburgh Steelers on matchday 11 of the 2019 season , Garrett was expelled from the field shortly before the end of the game because he ripped off the helmet of the opposing quarterback Mason Rudolph and his helmet on hit his head. Shortly thereafter, Garrett was suspended indefinitely, with this suspension should last at least until the end of the season. After the end of the season, the ban was lifted on February 12, 2020.
