Paul Bausch

Paul Traugott Bausch (born May 27, 1895 in Korntal ; † September 1, 1981 there ) was a German politician ( CSVD , later CDU ).

Life and work

Bausch's father was a teacher and housefather at the large orphanage of the Evangelical Brethren in Korntal. After participating in the First World War, he himself completed his training for the senior administrative service and, after passing the state examination, joined the Württemberg civil service as a civil servant. From 1920 he was employed in the Ministry of Labor and Food. From 1932 he worked as an accountant in Korntal. From 1933 to 1945 he was chief accountant in the Württemberg Ministry of Economics. After the Second World War he was a senior councilor in the state of Württemberg . In 1951 he founded the German Parliamentary Society together with Karl Georg Pfleiderer , Gerhard Lütkens and Joseph-Ernst Fugger von Glött .

Political party

In 1924, Bausch was a co-founder of the Protestant-conservative “Christian People's Service”, which in 1929 was absorbed into the Christian Social People's Service . In 1945 Bausch was one of the founders of the CDU in Württemberg-Baden and became a member of the CDU state executive there. He was one of the proponents of an interdenominational party that wanted to break the political division between Protestants and Catholics.

MP

Bausch was a member of the state parliament in Württemberg from 1928 to 1932 and sat in the German Reichstag from 1930 to 1933 , as a member of which he voted for Hitler's enabling law.

From 1946 to 1950 Bausch was a member of the state parliament in Württemberg-Baden . From 1947 to 1949 he was a member of the State Council of the American Zone . He was a member of the German Bundestag from the first federal election from 1949 to 1965, and he represented the constituency of Böblingen in parliament. 1953 to 1957 he was chairman of the Bundestag committee for questions of the press, the radio and the film. In 1951, together with Willi Steinhörster ( SPD ) , Bausch pushed through the institutional funding of the “Federation for Bird Protection” (now NABU ) from the federal budget.
