Paul Berg (born September 26, 1991 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German snowboarder . He starts in the snowboard cross discipline. His sister is the snowboarder Luca Berg .

Career

Berg mainly took part in the European Cup from 2008 to 2012. He drove his first World Cup race in January 2012 in Veysonnaz , which he finished in 29th place in snowboard cross and thus also won his first World Cup points. In the 2012/13 season , he mainly achieved rear placements in the World Cup. 18th place at the World Cup race in Arosa was his best result of the season. In December 2013 he achieved his first top ten placement in the World Cup with fifth place in snowboard cross in Lake Louise . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he came in 13th place in snowboard cross. At the last race of the 2013/14 season in La Molina , he won his first World Cup. He finished the season in second place in the snowboard cross ranking. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he finished 11th. In March 2017 he came in 35th place at the Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada . In the 2017/18 season he achieved 12 World Cup starts, five times a place in the top ten, including third place in Feldberg and rank in Val Thorens and thus reached fourth place in the snowboard cross World Cup. He also won the team competition in Veysonnaz together with Konstantin Schad . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished 19th in snowboard cross.

In the 2018/19 season, Berg took eighth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. He took second place on the Feldberg . At the Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City , he finished fourth in the individual and won the bronze medal in the team competition.
