Robert Paul Clark (born June 2, 1947 in New Orleans , Louisiana - † April 15, 2015 in Las Vegas , Nevada ) was a professional American poker player . He won two bracelets at the World Series of Poker and was nicknamed Eskimo .

Personal

Clark grew up with six siblings in Stockton , California . Because his face looked similar to the one on the former Alaska Airlines logo , he was nicknamed Eskimo . During the Vietnam War , Clark worked as a medic in Vietnam . He died in Las Vegas on April 15, 2015 at the age of 67 .

Poker career

Career

Clark participated in prestigious live tournaments from 1988 . In May 1988 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas and came into the money in a tournament of the Limit Omaha variant . At the 1992 WSOP , he won a tournament in Limit 7 Card Stud for $ 122,000 in prize money and his first bracelet . He secured two more bracelets in 1999 and 2002 . Clark won the highest prize money of his career in early April 2004 at the main event of the World Poker Tour in Reno . There he landed in second place out of 342 players and cashed in more than $ 300,000.

Overall, Clark has earned more than $ 2.5 million playing poker in live tournaments.
