Paul Fischer (born September 6, 1882 - † February 6, 1942 ) was a German football player. With his club BTuFC Viktoria 89 he won the German championship twice, the Berlin championship four times and the Berlin Cup three times.

Career

Fischer, who worked as a civil servant at the Prussian Railway , was a defender of the BTuFC Viktoria 89 from 1902 to 1911 , for whom he mostly played as a left defender in point games in the championships held by the Berliner Ballspielvereine .

For the "Himmelblauen" he played a total of ten finals for the German championship due to the successes. At its premiere in 1906/07, he played all three final round matches and made his debut on April 21, 1907 in a 2-1 quarter-final victory over SC Schlesien Breslau . After the 4: 1 semi-final victory on May 9, 1907 at FC Victoria 1895 from Hamburg, he and his team reached the final, which was lost on May 19, 1907 in Mannheim, however, 1: 3 against Freiburg FC .

In the following season he was also used in all three final round games - this time he won the final after the successful quarter and semi-finals. This was won 3-1 against FC Stuttgarter Cickers on June 7, 1908 on the Germania-Platz in front of 4,000 spectators .

He and his team lost the third championship final in a row on May 30, 1909 in Breslau 2: 4 against FC Phoenix Karlsruhe . He was employed as a left defender against the future national right winger Karl Wegele in the predominant duels.

With the same result from the final of 1908, he also won the final held on June 4, 1911 in Dresden against VfB Leipzig ; this time he did not contest the quarter and semi-finals.

From 1911 to 1914 he let his career end with the second-class BFC Vorwärts 90 Berlin .

National team

Fischer played an international match for the senior national team on April 20, 1908 in a 1: 5 (1: 3) against the English national team of amateurs . With goalkeeper Paul Eichelmann and Otto Hantschick , he formed the German final triangle.
