Paul Trofimowitsch Graf von Baranoff ( Russian : Па́вел Трофи́мович Бара́нов; * December 30, 1814 in Saint Petersburg ; † April 15, 1864 in Saint Petersburg) was a Russian count , major general in the Imperial Russian Army , war governor of the city ​​of Tver and governor of the Tver Governorates .

Life

Paul's military career began in the Imperial Russian Page Corps . As a midshipman , he served from 1833 Izmajlovschen Guard - Regiment , which the Russian Old Guard counted. Paul came from the Baltic-Russian noble family von Baranoff , who had lived in Estonia and Livonia since the middle of the 16th century and descended from an ancient Russian nobility . His father was the Imperial Russian Chamberlain and Real Councilor of State Trofim Johann Ludwig von Baranoff, who was married to the Chamberlain Julie von Adlerberg.
