Paul Humpoletz

Herbert Paul Humpoletz (* 1943 in Paddington , London ) is a British actor .

Life

Humpoletz was educated at the Rose Bruford College of Theater & Performance in London in the 1960s. He began his film and television career in the early 1970s with appearances on British television, where he had a recurring supporting role in the children's series Timeslip . He also worked in successful series in German-speaking countries such as Jason King and Die Profis . His feature film debut followed in 1972 in the British science fiction film Doomwatch - Isle of Terror . He played in a number of partly very successful feature film productions such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Bridget Jones - On the Edge of Madness , but was almost exclusively seen in minor supporting roles. Humpoletz speaks German, and therefore often played German or Austrian roles, such as Mr. Schlegel in The Brief , Mr. Steiler in Sherlock Holmes, and a German officer in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade . He also portrayed Bruno Koschmider in Backbeat and Franz Joseph I in the National Geographic biography series Genius .
