Paul McGowan (born October 7, 1987 in Bellshill ) is a Scottish football player on the position of a striker . He currently plays for FC Dundee in the Scottish Premiership , the highest Scottish league.

Career

McGowan began his career at Celtic Glasgow in the local reserve department. In 2006/07 it was awarded to Greenock Morton . In his first season as a player he was in the third highest Scottish league champion and rose to the Scottish First Division of the second division. In 2007 he returned to Glasgow and made his debut in the Scottish Premier League. In the game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on September 15, 2007, he was substituted on in the 72nd minute for Scott McDonald . The game ended 5-0.

In the 2008/09 season he came to no use in the league, but he was allowed to run on December 10, 2008 in the UEFA Champions League against Villarreal FC on the field. McGowan came on for Aiden McGeady in the 74th minute and received a yellow card for foul play in the 76th minute. In the winter transition period 2008/09 he was awarded again, this time to the first division Hamilton Academical . With 14 appearances and one goal, McGowan was one of the regular players in the Liganeunten at the end of the season. He later played on loan at FC St. Mirren who then committed him. In the summer of 2014, McGowan moved to Dundee FC .
