Jordan McGhee (born July 24, 1996 in East Kilbride ) is a Scottish football player .
Career
society
Jordan McGhee was born in East Kilbride in July 1996. At the age of eleven, he joined the youth of Heart of Midlothian . There McGhee played in the club's junior teams in the following years. As part of the club's U 20s, he made his professional debut in the 2012/13 season against FC St. Mirren at the age of 16. By the end of the season, McGhee did not play in any other game under Gary Locke . In the following 2013/14 season , the defensive player played 17 times and was able to achieve his first professional goal. He scored in a 2-1 win against Aberdeen FC in August 2013. After the Hearts had been deducted 15 points as a result of the great financial difficulties caused by Vladimir Romanov , the club was relegated. In the second Scottish division, a new team was formed, which consisted of many homegrown. In addition to McGhee, they also included the players Callum Paterson , Jamie Walker , Danny Wilson , Sam Nicholson and Jason Holt . At the end of the second division season 2014/15 , the direct promotion succeeded. McGhee was there in 18 games on the lawn and scored two goals. In January 2015, the 18-year-old central defender extended his contract until the summer of 2017. In June 2016, McGhee was loaned to Middlesbrough FC to primarily join the “development squad”. Upon his return to Scotland, McGhee moved from Hearts to second division club Falkirk . In 2019 he moved to Dundee FC .
National team
Jordan McGhee made his debut for Scotland in May 2011. He played his first game in the Scottish U15 against Belgium . In the same year McGhee made his debut in the U16 . In 2013 he played once for the U18 against Israel in which he scored a goal. In October of the same year, McGhee also made his debut in the Scottish U21 against the Netherlands .
