James McPake (born June 24, 1984 in Bellshill ) is a former Northern Irish - Scottish football player , and current coach.

Career

James McPake was born in 1984 in Bellshill, a suburb of the Scottish metropolis of Glasgow . He began his career 50 km east of Glasgow in the youth of Livingston FC . McPake made his debut for the Scottish first division club in the 2003/04 season . In the relegation season 2005/06 , the central defender was loaned to the Scottish third division club Greenock Morton for four months . In January 2009 McPake moved to the English second division club Coventry City . From January to May 2012 it was awarded to Hibernian Edinburgh . With the Hibs he lost 5-1 in the cup final in the Edinburgh Derby against Heart of Midlothian . McPake scored the Hibs hit . In the following summer break he was firmly committed by the Hibs . In May 2014 he moved to Dundee FC . At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he was appointed team captain of the Dees . In January 2018 he announced the end of his career.

National team

The Scottish native McPake was appointed to the Northern Irish national team in May 2012 because his grandfather comes from Coleraine in Northern Ireland. His only use for the national selection was in a 6-0 defeat against the Netherlands .
