Paul Nagler

Paul Anton Nagler (born October 14, 1925 in Unterschneidheim ; † May 19, 2018 in Sindelfingen ) was a German architect . He was mainly known for his around 40 church buildings in the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and beyond.

Life

Nagler originally comes from Unterschneidheim in the Ostalb district (on the edge of the Nördlinger Ries). He later settled in Sindelfingen as a freelance architect . He was a member of the art association of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese . Three of his four children are also architects.

  • 1958–1960: Church of St. Joseph der Arbeiter in Sindelfingen (groundbreaking on September 25, 1958, laying of the foundation stone on November 30, 1958, inauguration on May 1, 1960)
  • 1961–1962: St. Raphael Church in Rutesheim (laying of the foundation stone on February 19, 1961, topping-out ceremony on September 23, 1961, inauguration on September 29, 1962)
  • 1961–1964: Church of St. Mary Queen of Peace in Schwäbisch Hall- Hessental (2004–2006 redesign by Werner Schuch, Schwäbisch Hall)
  • 1960s: Church of St. Bonifatius in Eppingen-Adelshofen , Archdiocese of Freiburg (first church building in prefabricated construction made of wood, model for other such churches in the Archdiocese of Freiburg, for example the Peter Julian Eymard Church in Haiterbach, built 1964–1966 , the Church of St. Maria Königin in Ensingen , which was built in 1964, the Church of St. Michael in Wurmberg, completed in 1965 and the Gut-Hirten-Kirche in Freudental, consecrated in 1967 )
  • 1970–1972: Church of St. Maria auf dem Goldberg in Sindelfingen (inauguration on September 17, 1972)
  • 1973–1974: Church of St. John the Baptist in Grafenau-Döffingen (inauguration on September 15, 1974)
  • 1974: Reconstruction of the chancel of the St. Anna Church in Sindelfingen-Maichingen, built in 1954
