Paul Valentine , also Valia Valentinoff and Val Valentinoff (born March 23, 1919 in New York City as William Daixel , † January 27, 2006 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor.

Life

Paul Valentine made his film debut as the gangster Joe in the film noir classic Goldenes Gift (1947) by director Jacques Tourneur with Robert Mitchum , Kirk Douglas and Jane Greer in the lead roles. He then appeared sporadically again and again in smaller to medium supporting roles in films such as Hostility to Blood by Joseph L. Mankiewicz (1949) or George Stevens ' drama What is Worth Life for (1952) with Joan Fontaine and Ray Milland . He was also seen in several television series before he retired from the big screen in the early 1960s. It wasn't until 1980 that Valentine stepped back in front of the camera for an episode role as a pastor in the television series Vegas . Several other appearances followed by 1984. Among the most famous films in which Valentine was involved during this time were Dance in the Clouds (1981) with Steve Martin ; In addition, the Golden Poison - remake Against All Odds (1984).

Valentine also worked as a stage actor, including on Broadway from the 1930s to 1950s . His first marriage in 1946 and 1949 to actress and stripper Lili St. Cyr ended in divorce. In 1952 he married Flevur Ali Khan. He died in Los Angeles in 2006 at the age of 86.
