Paulius Antanas Baltakis

Paulius Antanas Baltakis OFM (born January 1, 1925 in Troškūnai ; † May 17, 2019 in Kaunas ) was a Lithuanian religious and Roman Catholic foreign bishop ( Apostolic Visitator ) of the Lithuanians .

Life

Paulius Antanas Baltakis joined the Order of the Franciscans (OFM) and was ordained a priest on August 24, 1952 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on June 1, 1984 foreign bishop of the Lithuanians and titular bishop of Egara . The Apostolic Pro Nuncio in the United States , Archbishop Pio Laghi , gave him on 14 September of the same year in Portland , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were Edward Cornelius O'Leary , Bishop of Portland and Vincentas Brizgys , Auxiliary Bishop in Kaunas .
