Pawel Kanstanzinawitsch Lyschyn ( Belarusian Павел Канстанцінавіч Лыжын ., English transcription Pavel Lyzhyn * 24. March 1981 in Kamjanez ) is a Belarusian shot putter .

Career

In 2002 he was sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Vienna . At the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis, he failed in qualifying; shortly afterwards he won silver at the Universiade . The 2004 Olympic Games in Athens also ended prematurely for him; at the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , however, he made it to the final and was tenth.

In 2007 he was runner- up at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham , but retired from qualifying at the World Championships in Osaka .

Lyshyn was doped at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and was most recently in fourth place.

He finished sixth at the 2009 World Cup in Berlin. In the following year, a fifth place at the 2010 Indoor World Championships in Doha was followed by a sixth place at the European Championships in Barcelona . In 2011 he was eliminated in the first round of the World Cup in Daegu , and in 2012 he finished eighth at the Olympic Games in London with 20.69 m. At the 2013 World Cup in Moscow, he failed to qualify for a valid attempt.

Pavel Lyschyn is 1.89 m tall and weighs 110 kg.

doping

In a subsequent test of the doping sample from the 2008 Olympics, Lyschyn tested positive for Turinabol in 2016 and was disqualified by the IOC.
