Pearland is a city in Brazoria County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in southeast Texas on Highway 35, is about 50 km from the Gulf of Mexico and has a total area of 101.9 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.

According to the 2000 census, 37,640 people lived here in 13,192 households and 10,659 families. The population density was 369.5 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 82.62% White, 5.33% African American, 0.42% Native American, 3.65% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, and 6.12% other ethnic groups. About 1.82% were of mixed race and 16.22% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 13,192 households, 43.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 67.6% of them were married couples living together. 9.7% were single mothers and 19.2% were non-families. 15.8% of all households were single households and there were people living in 4.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.17.
28.8% of the population were under 18 years old, 7.3% 18 to 24, 34.2% 25 to 44, 21.2% 45 to 64, and 8.4% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 96.3 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 93.8 men.
The median income for a household in the city is $ 64,156 , and the median income for a family is $ 70,748. Males had a median income of $ 49,359 versus $ 34,570 for females.
