The Pederfick ( Italian Pietrafitta ) is a 3114  m slm high mountain in the Stiereckkamm in the Lasa Mountains , part of the Ortler Alps . It lies on the border of the municipalities of Laas and Prad in Vinschgau in the Italian province of South Tyrol and is part of the Stilfserjoch National Park .

Location and surroundings

The Pederfick is located south of the Vinschgau, east of the Suldental and north of the Razoital , which is a small side valley of the Suldental. The mountain is connected to the Tschenglser Hochwand ( 3375  m ) in the east and with the Stierkopf ( 3008  m ) and the 2601  m high Hidden Plais in the west via the Stiereckkamm . To the north it falls into a 350 m high rock face into a scree slope , which is bordered in the east by a small ridge and in the north by the 2742  m high waterfall peak, which is in front of the Pederfick.

Climbs

Because the starting points is relatively low (1600- for climbing the Pederfick 1,900  m are), the summit tour requires a good physical condition especially. There are several ascent routes, which in turn can be varied in different ways. Two basic ascent routes are described below.

The first starting point for the tour is the hamlet of Verklair , from which you first take a forest road, then path no. 6A and finally path no. 6B to the Gampenalm . From there, follow path no. 3, which gets steeper and steeper, to Verborgenen Plais and then to Stiereck and Stierkopf , from where a slightly exposed ridge leads to the summit of Pederfick.

A second ascent path begins in Aussersulden , which initially leads variably via paths 6, 22 or 22A to the Vellnairalm and from there via path no.3A to the Gampenalm , where the ascent continues as with the ascent route described above .
