Peter Bendixen (economist)

Peter Bendixen (born September 3, 1933 in Bad Bramstedt , Schleswig-Holstein, † October 6, 2014 in Vienna ) was a German university professor, economist and cultural scientist.

Peter Bendixen went to school in Bad Bramstedt. His neighbor at the bank was Karl Lagerfeld . After graduating from university in business administration in 1966, Bendixen worked as a management consultant , from 1972 he taught first as a lecturer in business administration, later as a professor in the course “Culture and Education Management” at the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics (HWP) until he left in 1999.

From 1992 to 1997 he was President of the “European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centers Brussels ”. Teaching activities and visiting professorships at the cultural studies faculties of the Universities of Budapest , Debrecen and Pécs in Hungary , the University of Warwick / Coventry / UK, the University of Lüneburg , the Commercial College Lodz / Poland and at the International Center for Culture and Management (ICCM) in Salzburg . From 1994 to 1997 he was an External Examiner at the University of Warwick, Center for the Studies of Cultural Policy and Administration. Since 1994 member of the editorial board of the “International Journal of Cultural Policy”. 1998 co-founder and director of the “ Rudolf Arnheim Institute for Art, Music and Cultural Economics”, Hamburg . Since 2002 member of the founding committee of the “Hohe Warte Private University for Business and Ethics” in Vienna. 2003 Senior Fellow of the Collegium Pontes in Görlitz . He has lived and worked in Vienna since 1999, where he unexpectedly died on October 6, 2014 at the age of 81.
