Peter Bucher (born April 3, 1947 in Hohenacker ; † May 3, 2019 in Viechtach ) was a German handball player .

biography

Peter Bucher came from Hohenacker to the B-youth from Frisch Auf Göppingen at the age of 14 .

Bucher took part in the 1972 Summer Olympics, where he was part of the West German team that finished sixth in the Olympic tournament . Bucher played in all six games and scored 20 goals, alternating on the right winger in four games with Heiner Möller and in two games with Jochen Feldhoff . Bucher scored 182 goals for the national team in 78 games .

In 1970 and 1972 the left-hander became German handball champion with Frisch Auf Göppingen . In 1976 he switched to the Bundesliga club TuS Hofweier . After Frisch Auf Göppingen was forced to relegate to the 2nd handball league , Bucher returned to Göppingen for one season in 1984, rose again with the team and ended his career at the end of the season.

Bucher then worked as player- coach at the Göppingen gymnastics club and later as player-coach for the second team at Frisch Auf.

He died in May 2019 at the age of 72 after a serious illness.
