Hohenacker is a suburb of the district town of Waiblingen in the Rems-Murr district , Baden-Württemberg .

geography

The residential areas of Hohenackers are located above the Rems on the plateau . The scenic section of the Rems in the Hohenacker district has not been corrected and there is no road in the valley floor. The hamlet Zillhardtshof and the residential area Remsmühle belong to Hohenacker .

history

Evangelical Erhartskirche from 1489

The community was first mentioned in a document in 1350. Roman roads passed in the immediate vicinity - remnants of an old Roman bridge tell of this.

Hohenacker was incorporated into the city of Waiblingen on January 1, 1975. Today Hohenacker is primarily an extensive residential area in the district town of Waiblingen.

Mayor

There is a full-time mayor elected by the town council in the town center . The bogus suburbs , introduced in 1975 with the incorporation, were abolished again in the 2004 local elections.

Buildings

  • The Evangelical Erharts Church in Hohenacker was renovated and enlarged in 1489, but is probably even older.

Economy and Infrastructure

The suburb is characterized by the still existing agriculture. In the past few years, various medium-sized and craft businesses have settled in the constantly expanding industrial area.

With the Neustadt-Hohenacker station, Hohenacker has a S-Bahn connection to the S-Bahn line S3 ( Backnang –Stuttgart- Flughafen ) of the Stuttgart S-Bahn . There are bus connections via Neustadt to Waiblingen and Bittenfeld. All lines operate at uniform tariffs within the Stuttgart Transport and Tariff Association (VVS).

Public facilities

Hohenacker has a town hall in which the most important services of the administration to the citizens are offered.

education

Hohenacker has a primary school, the Lindenschule . Until 2011, the students then attended the Schiller School in the neighboring Bittenfeld. Since August 2011 the Schillerschule in Bittenfeld has also been a pure elementary school. In the neighboring district of Neustadt there is a secondary comprehensive school with the Peace School.
