The Remsmühle is a residential area belonging to the Hohenacker district of the city of Waiblingen in the Rems-Murr district in Baden-Württemberg .

location

The Remsmühle (also Vogelmühle ) is located in the Lower Remstal nature reserve on the bottom of the deepened and looped shell limestone valley of the Rems between the Waiblinger districts of Hegnach on the left and Hohenacker on the right edge, from which a mostly waterless valley basin runs down to the river. The mill building is 213.5  m above sea level. NHN a good 20 meters to the right of the Rems on a short Mühlkanal and thus 40 meters in altitude below the main settlement parts of the two nearby towns. The next places in the longitudinally drivewayless valley are the Hegnacher Mühle up a double loop and the Neckarrems district of Remseck am Neckar noticeably further down, where the Rems flows into the Neckar .

history

The Remsmühle has been in operation as a grain mill since 1864. The mill was mentioned for the first time in 1869. Since then, the place has been mentioned as a residential area. Since 1948 there has been a hydroelectric power station in the Remsmühle belonging to the local energy supplier Stadtwerke Waiblingen . On January 1, 1975, the living space was incorporated into the town of Waiblingen together with Hohenacker as part of the community reform. The mill buildings were renovated in 1986/87.

The mill is on the Hegnacher Straße, which leads from Hohenacker to Hegnach. The Waiblingen circular bike path leads past the mill.
