The Turnerschaft Göppingen is a sports club from the Württemberg city of Göppingen . It was founded in 1844 as a men's gymnastics community in Göppingen , making it the oldest gymnastics and sports club in the Göppingen district. With almost 2000 members, it is one of the largest associations in the city of Göppingen.

Well-known former athletes
- Wolfgang Reinhardt , former German athlete and silver medalist at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo
- Lars-Henrik Walther , former German handball professional a. a. for FRESH UP! Göppingen and TBV Lemgo played for the gymnastics club after his professional career and became the coach of the first handball team in the Württemberg League
- Michael Kraus , German handball professional, world champion 2007 , EHF cup winner 2010 with TBV Lemgo and German champion 2011 with HSV Hamburg , formerly FRESH ON! Göppingen, played in his youth for the gymnastics club and was there in 2000 the Württemberg champion with the B-Juniors of the gymnastics club
- Michael Kohnle , former decathlete, was junior European champion (1989) and junior world champion (1988) during his time with the gymnastics club.
- Karl Herbolzheimer , "The man with 1000 hands", was the goalkeeper of the German national handball team , world champion from 1938 and began his career with the gymnastics club
- Horst Singer , multiple German handball champion (field and hall) and European Cup winner of the national champions in 1962 with Frisch Auf Göppingen and field handball world champion in 1955 with the German national team, played for the gymnastics club between his two stations at Frisch Auf
Handball
In the handball department there has long been a great inner-city rivalry with Frisch Auf Göppingen . Meanwhile, the gymnastics team and Frisch Auf are cooperating in handball. The license of the first team of the gymnastics club was handed over to Frisch Auf, which means that the Frisch Auf U23 team is now competing in the Württemberg League, which is a prerequisite for achieving the youth certificate of the Toyota Handball Bundesliga . The first team of the gymnastics club is now playing in the regional league, after having made it out of the regional league after taking over the playing rights from Frisch Auf II.
fencing
The fencing department of the gymnastics club was founded in 1921. The swords and swords are currently being fought. The biggest event of the year is the Stauferland tournament. Until 2002 the tournament was held as a women's floret world cup. In 2012 the tournament was held for the 50th time, the winner was Sandra Bingenheimer.

Budo
The Budo department includes the Judo , Jeffkondo and Taekwondo sections . The judo and taekwondo sections regularly take part in tournaments with several fighters.
