Peter Eduard Mayer

Peter Eduard Mayer (born December 13, 1945 in Munich - † April 11, 2018 ) was a German civil engineer , construction manager and university professor .

Life

Peter Eduard Mayer, son of Eduard Ludwig and Charlotte Maria Mayer, graduated in civil engineering from the Technical University of Munich in 1972 . He then completed an MBA at Insead in Fontainebleau . After working as an assistant at Insead for a year, he worked for Dr. Donhauser & Partner , from 1978 as managing director in the engineering office Prof. Burkhardt GmbH & Co. in Munich. After his doctorate as Dr. techn. at the University of Innsbruck he was appointed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria as a publicly appointed and sworn expert for building prices and billing in building construction and civil engineering as well as construction operations and project management.

In 1992 he was offered a professorship for construction industry , building law and planning methods at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences . In 1997 he was appointed professor for project management and building law at the Technical University of Munich . In 2011 he was released.

Mayer was committed to the integral and interdisciplinary development of construction process management . The main teaching and research areas were project planning and control , cost management and control as well as decision-based construction production planning, decision models and project management. He published numerous scientific papers, including the standard work on construction management - project management: successful control of construction projects .
