Peter Eldridge
Peter Eldridge (* around 1962 ) is an American jazz musician ( vocals , piano , composition ).

Eldridge comes from a family of musicians; his father was a bassist for Benny Goodman . After studying at Ithaca College, he founded the vocal ensemble New York Voices in 1987 with Darmon Meader , Kim Nazarian, Caprice Fox and Sara Krieger , which had its first appearances in 1988; In 1989 the debut album was released on GRP Records . The ensemble's numerous other albums followed until 2007, initially with GRP, and later with RCA Victor , Concord and Palmetto Records . In addition, Eldridge began a solo career and released two albums under his own name on Rosebud Records in 2000 : On the ballad CD Stranger in Town he was accompanied by Michael Brecker , Claudio Roditi , Lewis Nash , Romero Lubambo and Andy Ezrin ; the album Fool no More contains twelve original compositions by Eldridge. The album Decorum followed in 2005, Mad Heaven in 2011 and Disappearing Day in 2016 .
In 2008 he worked with Kurt Elling , Jon Hendricks and Mark Murphy as the Four Brothers . He is also a member of the MOSS vocal ensemble with Luciana Souza , Kate McGarry , Theo Bleckmann and Lauren Kinhan, with whom he released an album that was highly praised by the Down Beat in 2008 . He appears with Matt Aronoff in the duo Foolish Hearts . He also worked with Nancy Wilson , Joshua Redman , Bobby McFerrin , Patti Austin , Ray Brown , Astrud Gilberto , George Benson and his student Jane Monheit . In 2019 he presented the album Somewhere , on which he is accompanied by Kenny Werner and strings.
Together with Adam Waite he wrote the music for the documentary No Job for a Woman . As a college teacher for jazz singing , he was active since 1993 at the Manhattan School of Music ; since 2014 he has been a professor at Berklee College of Music .
