Peter Hoffmann (born July 7, 1956 in Friedersdorf bei Bitterfeld , today part of the municipality of Muldestausee ) is a German writer and publicist .

life and work

Peter Hoffmann initially became a railroad worker , but later completed a distance learning course at the Leipzig Institute of Literature . After that he lived for a few years as a freelance writer. During the GDR era , he earned his living with readings and events on literature; He regularly published articles in newspapers such as the Wochenpost and children's magazines such as Bummi . After the fall of the Wall , he worked for a short time in disaster control , later in a newspaper distributor and as an editor as well as deputy managing director of an advertising paper in Bitterfeld.

For several years Hoffmann has been retired due to a physical condition. He lives in Friedersdorf, where he was born, where he was the chairman of a cultural association that, among other things, trains and promotes young authors.

Current areas of work are: short prose and editing . Hoffmann is a member of the Friedrich Bödecker Circle and the German Association of Journalists (djv) . For years he has been involved with muscular and handicapped children, with whom he develops language projects .
