Peter Issig (artist)

Peter Issig (born September 27, 1965 in Solingen ) is a German jazz bassist and video artist.

Issig has been working as a freelance musician since 1991. After touring with the John C. Marshall Band , he toured with Inga Rumpf and with Ali Claudi , Jimmy Jackson , Angela Brown and Gene Conners in 1993 . In the same year his first solo album Bass in Cyberspace was released , followed in 2006 by the solo production Zombie and the Ghosttrain .

In 2001 he founded the group Perlon , with which he gave concerts, recorded CDs and went on a concert tour through Spain. In 2002 he wrote music and sound design for Jojo Enßlin's feature film Solanine . Since 2004, he has also been active as a video artist and a member of the world exhibition ( Thilo Schölpen , Robert Schleisiek , Uli Kürner , Anja Lautermann , Uwe Möllhusen , Dirk Ferdinand and Stefan Juerke ), which presents concerts and multimedia performances and installations.

In 2005 he and the Kiesgroup group received the city of Düsseldorf's cultural promotion award . In 2006 he contributed the sound-video-installation Floorscape -Environment to the Night of the Museums in Düsseldorf and released a CD with the band kiesgroup . He also worked with the group Analogue Birds (with Tom Fronza and Sven Kosakowski ) and is a member of the Jazz Konfekt formation (with Meinolf Humpert , Manni von Dits , Wolfgang Scheelen and Ulf Seiffert ).
