Peter Klasvogt
Peter Klasvogt (born February 17, 1957 in Herford ) is a German Roman Catholic priest and theological author. He is the director of the social institute Kommende Dortmund and the Catholic Academy Schwerte .
Life
After graduating from high school in Herford and completing basic military service in a medical unit, Klasvogt studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the theological faculty in Paderborn , during the Jerusalem theological year in the Jerusalem Dormition Abbey and at the University of Augsburg . This was followed by a year at the priestly school of the Focolare Movement in Frascati and pastoral training in the Paderborn seminary . In 1984 he was ordained a priest in Paderborn.
He was vicar in Höxter and from 1986 to 1989 research assistant at the Augsburg chair for pastoral theology as well as pastor in the Ecumenical Life Center Ottmaring , then from 1990 at the Paulus Kolleg in Paderborn spiritual guide in the parish clerk training. In 1991 he finished his dissertation on John Chrysostom and was at Augsburger theological faculty to Dr. theol. PhD. In 1993 Klasvogt Regens became the archbishop's seminary in Paderborn and in 1999 became speaker, from 2003 chairman of the Northwest German Regent Conference. In 2005 he also became director of the Archbishop's Leokonvikt . Before taking up his current offices, he spent a research semester in Chicago at the Catholic Theological Union.
Since 2006 he has been director of the social institute Kommende Dortmund and the Catholic Academy Schwerte . In 2014, Klasvogt was sent by the Catholic Church in North Rhine-Westphalia as a member of the Broadcasting Council of West German Broadcasting in Cologne .
Act
Klasvogt has many years of experience as a retreat guide and as an organizer of scientific conferences. He is the author and editor of several books on spiritual and ecclesiological topics; The focus is on the priest's task and self-image in a secular environment.
In 2009 he was the initiator of the «beneVolens. Promote youth. Shaping the future », which is committed to the German-Polish youth. In 2014 he founded the international network “socioMovens. Giving Europe a Soul eV », which brings young people from Central and Eastern Europe together in project weeks.
Peter Klasvogt is involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . In 2007 he was appointed by Cardinal Grand Master Carlo Cardinal Furno as Commander (Officer) of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and invested on October 6, 2007 by Reinhard Marx , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy . He is a member of the Dortmund Commandery of the Papal Lay Order.
