Peter V. von Rosenberg (also the limping Czech Petr V. z Rožmberka also Petr Kulhavý ; * December 17, 1489 , † November 6, 1545 ) was a nobleman from the Rosenbergs .

Life

His parents were Wok II von Rosenberg and Margarete von Guttenstein ( Markéta z Gutenštejna ). Peter was the third oldest among the brothers Johann , Jost and Heinrich . After his father's death in 1505, his brother Peter IV von Rosenberg , who was the guardian of Wok's underage children, sent him to study in Wolfratshausen in Bavaria .

After the death of his brother Jost in 1539, Peter became regent of the Rosenberg family. Subsequently, there were arguments with Jost's widow Anna von Roggendorf. She had her share paid out, left her children and moved to Austria . Anna von Rosenberg and Neuhaus ( Anna Rožmberská z Hradce ), the widowed daughter of Peter's brother Jost III, took care of the upbringing of the children . from Rosenberg.

In 1540 Peter issued a guideline for his subjects that comprised 85 points and with which he regulated legal, administrative, economic and financial matters. After the land tablets in Prague Castle were burned in 1541 , new registers were drawn up. They were accepted by the regional assembly on December 5th, 1541 and on December 24th. J. ratified. One of the co-signers was Peter V. von Rosenberg. In 1544 Peter acquired an area at Prague Castle, on which he began building a representative palace, which his nephew and successor Wilhelm von Rosenberg completed.

Peter died unmarried and without offspring. In his will he designated the sons of his brother Jost Wilhelm and Peter Wok von Rosenberg as heirs . Since both and other siblings were not of legal age, Jost appointed three guardians. They were Albrecht von Guttenstein ( Albrecht z Gutštejna ), Hieronymus Schlick and Ulrich Holicky von Sternberg ( Oldřich Holický ze Šternberka ). They met after Peter's death in 1545 on January 28, 1546 in Krumau , recorded the entire property of the Rosenbergs and appointed Peter von Doudleb (Petr Doudlebský z Doudleb) as governor. During her absence, he and four other noblemen managed the family. Wenzel Albin von Helfenburg remained in the position of Chancellor . During the administration by the authorized representatives, the Rosenbergs received the Austrian rule Haslach ale fiefs from the Passau bishop Wolfgang von Salm .
