Peter Wolf (actor)

Peter Wolf (born June 4, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor , dramaturge and producer.

Artistic career

Peter Wolf learned from Karlheinz Hackl at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . After his first great success in the independent theater group Beinhardt-Ensemble as Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind under the direction of Meret Barz in 1986, Achim Benning engaged him at the Burgtheater in Vienna. In the same year Boy Gobert and Ernst Wendt brought him to the theater in der Josefstadt .

This was followed by engagements at the Schauspiel Bonn , the Nationaltheater Mannheim , the Theater Basel under Frank Baumbauer and at the Staatstheater Hannover with Ulrich Khuon . In 1996 he came to the Schauspiel Köln , where he worked with Hans Kresnik and Hans Michael Rehberg , and in 1999 to the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.

In 2000 he went to the Stuttgart State Theater under Friedrich Schirmer . There he played Orest in Elektra by Hugo von Hofmannsthal , directed by Jacqueline Kornmüller , Don Juan in Don Juan Comes from the War by Ödön von Horváth and the monologue La nuit juste avant les forêts by Bernard-Marie Koltès , with which he went to Chekhov -Theater Festival in Moscow was invited. During this time, Wolf worked with Johan Simons , Elias Perrig and Jacqueline Kornmüller.

Peter Wolf has lived in Vienna since 2005 and has been a guest at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, where he plays Azdak in The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Leonhard in Maria Magdalena , directed by Jacqueline Kornmüller . In 2010 he played the painter Gustav Klimt in Joshua Sobol's polydrama "Alma - A Show Biz to the End" in Vienna (director: Paulus Manker). He is producing the Ganymed Boarding project at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, for which he and Jacqueline Kornmüller received the Bank Austria Art Prize in 2011 and the Nestroy Prize in the Best Off Production category. In 2011 he produced the project Die Reise - a project for 30 migrants by Jacqueline Kornmüller.
