Petr Koukal (born August 16, 1982 in Havlíčkův Brod , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has played again at Mountfield HK in the Czech extra league since 2017 .
Career
Petr Koukal began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of HC Žďár nad Sázavou , from where he switched to the U20 juniors of HC Pardubice in 1999 . For the professional team Pardubices, the attacker made his debut in the extra league in the 2001/02 season . He scored two goals in eleven games and provided an assist. At the beginning of his career, the left shooter was loaned to HC Šumperk and HC Hradec Králové , where he was able to collect match practice in the second-class first division . Only during the 2005/06 season was the Czech on the ice for a different team in the extra league than Pardubice. For HC Plzeň , he scored once in nine games and prepared four more goals. With Pardubice, Koukal was Czech champion in 2005 and 2010 . In addition, he failed with his team in 2003 and 2007 only in the playoff finals.
In 2012 he was able to repeat winning the championship before he was obliged in May of the same year together with Jan Kolář from Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk from the Continental Hockey League . For Neftechimik he completed 102 KHL games in the following two years before he was signed by KHL newcomer Jokerit Helsinki in June 2014 . At Jokerit, he scored 36 points in 66 games this season, but did not receive a new contract in summer 2015. Therefore, he moved to Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg within the KHL , where he was initially assistant captain and in the 2016/17 season he was team captain . In addition, he was one of the top 3 scorers of his team in both game years. He returned to the Czech Extraliga in May 2017 when he was signed by Mountfield HK (the former HC Hradec Králové).
International
For the Czech Republic , Koukal took part in the 2010 World Cup in Germany . In this he became world champion with his team. Two years later, he won the bronze medal at the 2012 World Cup with the Czech national team .
