Petra Slezáková

Petra Slezáková (born February 4, 1981 in Banská Bystrica ) is a Slovak biathlete .

Petra Slezáková lives in Banska Bystrica and is a sports teacher. She started biathlon in 1997 and has been part of the Slovak national team since the following year. Her hometown club is VŠC Dukla Banska Bystrica , where she is trained by Milan Gašperčík. 1998 Slezáková first appeared in Jericho at a junior world championship. As in the following year in Pokljuka , she has not yet achieved any results worth mentioning . Only in 2000 she was able to achieve good results in Hochfilzen with seventh place in the pursuit and eighth place in the individual. At the Junior European Championship in Zakopane that same year , she just missed a medal as fourth in the pursuit. A year later in Haute-Maurienne , she again just missed a medal in fourth place in the sprint. The best result at the 2001 Junior World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk was sixth place in the individual.

Slezáková ran her first senior European championship in 2003 in Forni Avoltri . The first good result of an EM was only in 2004 the tenth place in the individual in Minsk . In 2005 in Novosibirsk she was fifth with the season. She took part in her first World Cup in 2004 in Oberhof . Slezáková ran four races, the best result was 53rd place in the sprint. In 2007 she only ran the individual, where she reached 79th place. Slezáková made his debut in the biathlon world cup in 2001 in a sprint (76th) in Ruhpolding . She achieved her best result in the same place in 2004 as sixth in a relay race. She achieved the same rank again the following year in Ruhpolding. The Slovakian achieved the best individual result as sprint 37. 2003 in Osrblie .
