Petze coat of arms
Blazon : “In the green shield there is a silver , gold - armored pheasant cock , the tail feathers ofwhich rundownwards in an arc to the right . A golden ear of wheat with awns is setas a symbol at the bottom right and top left. "
Foundation of the coat of arms: The village of Petze was once a Meierdorf of the Lords of Wrisbergholzen, who had a pheasant in their coat of arms. So it happened that the pheasant appeared in the weather vane of the church tower and on the sign of the village pitcher, which today, after the Wrisberg family died out and the connection between them and this sign gradually disappeared in popular memory, is addressed as a village sign. So it is understandable that at that time the municipality chose the pheasant as a heraldic animal with the addition of the two ears of wheat as a peasant symbol.
