The Pfarrhaus Thalkirchen is the rectory of the Catholic parish of St. Maria Thalkirchen in Munich . The building is registered as an architectural monument in the Bavarian list of monuments.

location

The rectory is located in the historic center of Munich's Thalkirchen district on Fraunbergplatz, about 30 meters back from the street, southwest of the parish church of St. Maria and southeast of the also listed building Fraunbergplatz 6-7 . The house is oriented approximately in north-south direction . The main facade is on the northern narrow side of the building and dominates the south side of Fraunbergplatz.

history

The parsonage belonging to the church of St. Maria in Thalkirchen was in Mittersendling , which caused constant confusion as to whether Thalkirchen or Sendling were the parish or branch church . Thalkirchen only got its own parsonage in 1903, when the former schoolhouse became the parsonage of the independent parish again in 1847. Even then, the construction of a more suitable rectory was planned, but this was delayed.

The Foirerhof originally stood on the site of today's rectory . The Dreiviertelhof with 138 days of work in 1812 was landable for the Angerkloster in Munich and has been traceable since 1642. In 1893 Jakob Heilmann bought the farm with the remaining land for the Isar works , which separated from the remaining agricultural land. In 1906 the building belonged to the master carpenter Naß, who sold it and his entire business to the Valentin Witt furniture factory. In 1918 the house was sold to the parish foundation of St. Maria Thalkirchen, which had it demolished in order to build the new rectory by 1927. The old rectory became the nursing home for the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent de Paul .

In 1956 a kindergarten was initially set up in the rectory. In 1975 the parish center with children's facilities, hall, function rooms and library was built.

architecture

The corner plan

The two-storey building has a floor area of around 17 × 12 meters and has a hipped roof . The house is built in simple forms of the homeland style. It is at the level of the lower edge of the window of the upper floor by running through a cornice divided horizontally and closed at the top by a cornice. The southwest corner of the house is formed as an octagonal corner risalit .

The main facade on Fraunbergplatz is three-axis with the entrance in the middle. A staircase leads up to the entrance, a flat bay window protrudes from the facade above the entrance . A mosaic above the entrance shows Mary with the baby Jesus , the coat of arms of Munich with the monk, the coat of arms of the Fraunbergers with the jumping horse and a banner with the inscription "Pfarramt Sanct Maria Thalkirchen". The symmetrical triaxiality of the main facade with the entrance in the middle is continued inside by the fact that a central corridor runs through the entire building.
