The parish church of the Resurrection of Christ is a Roman Catholic parish church on Saikogasse in the 22nd district of Vienna, Donaustadt . history

The church was built according to the plans of the architect Karl Schwanzer and consecrated in 1972, in 1974 raised to the position of an expositur church, and in 1979 raised to a parish church.

architecture

The nested building complex consists of four circular areas, some of which overlap. The surrounding gardens such as the inner courtyard of the rectory are also structured with segments of a circle.

The church with a circular floor plan has three liturgical locations, an altar table, a tabernacle and a baptismal font in smaller circular areas with stepped platforms. Organ gallery and singing gallery are opposite each other. The light of the church is solved by a double-walled circumferential walking area.

Furnishing

There was a modern bronze crucifix. A tapestry vision of the prophet Ezekiel is by the painter Maximilian Florian from 1954. The organ is from the organ builder Walcker-Mayer from 1989. In 1998 the crucifix was replaced by a resurrection picture by Prof. Hermann Bauch. A year later, this picture was supplemented by six small pictures, which depict important stages in the life of Jesus: the baptism of Jesus, the Sermon on the Mount, the multiplication of bread, healings, the expulsion of the temple, the washing of feet.

Rectory

The rectory is circular with a circular inner courtyard.
