Philip Hersby (born July 25, 1984 in Malmö , Sweden ) is a Danish ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Malmö Redhawks in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan since 2012 .

Career

Philip Hersby began his career as a hockey player at Hvidovre IK , for which he was active from 1999 to 2003, and with whom he achieved promotion to the AL-Bank Ligaen , the highest Danish league, in the 2000/01 season . He then ended the 2002/03 season with the U20 juniors of the Swedish first division team Malmö Redhawks , which he left after only six games to return to his Danish homeland. There the defender was first in the 2003/04 season at Rungsted IK , with whom he won the Danish cup competition that season and then from 2004 to 2006 under contract with Herlev IC . The left shooter also played in the German ice hockey league for the Stuttgart Wizards in the 2005/06 season .

In the summer of 2006, Hersby signed with his ex-club Rungsted IK, which had now changed its name to Nordsjælland Cobras . After only one year he moved again to Hvidovre in 2007 to his ex-club, now renamed Totempo HvIK, where he started his career and for which he was on the ice for the following four years. The Dane started the 2011/12 season at Tingsryds AIF in HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, and ended it in Denmark with the Odense Bulldogs . In the summer of 2012 he joined his ex-club Malmö Redhawks from HockeyAllsvenskan.

International

For Denmark , Hersby took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B World Championships in 2001 and 2002 as well as the U20 Junior C World Championships in 2002 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2003 and 2004 . In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the A-World Championships in 2009 , 2011 and 2012 .
