Philipp Wittmann

Philipp Wittmann (born May 5, 1815 in Mainz , † May 2, 1867 ibid) was a German lawyer, Hessian politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Philipp Wittmann was the son of the medical councilor Franz Josef Wittmann and his wife Marie Christine Josefine Johanna, née von Renauld. Wittmann, who was a Catholic, married Luise nee Viëtor.

Wittmann studied law at the University of Giessen from 1833 , where he was awarded a Dr. jur. received his doctorate. He became a court attorney and then a stage lawyer in Mainz.

From 1849 to 1856 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Rheinhessen 6 / Wörrstadt .
