Karl Behlen

Karl Christoph Behlen (born November 24, 1811 in Wörrstadt ; † June 17, 1874 in Armsheim ) was a Hessian politician ( German Progressive Party ) and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Karl Behlen was the son of the businessman Wilhelm Behlen and his wife Katharina Margarethe nee Wallrab. Karl Behlen was married to his younger cousin Maria Josephine nee Behlen (born July 11, 1822 in Wallertheim, † December 16, 1889 in Armsheim). He was a landowner in Armsheim.

In the 11th to 14th and again in the 17th and 18th electoral terms (1847–1856 and 1863–1866) Karl Behlen was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the 11th electoral term he represented the electoral district Rheinhessen 4 / Wörrstadt in the 11th electoral term , in the 12th to 14th electoral term the electoral district Rheinhessen 12 / Odernheim and in the electoral periods 17 and 18 the electoral district Rheinhessen 6 / Wörrstadt (as successor to Dieter Schilling ). In 1848 he was a member of the preliminary parliament .
