Rudolph Bamberger (born February 4, 1821 in Mainz , † June 7, 1900 in Baden-Baden ) was a Hessian politician and former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Rudolph Bamberger was the son of the Bodenheim merchant and banker Aaron Jakob August Bamberger (1790–1858) and his wife Amalia, née Bischoffsheim (1802–1877). He had six siblings, including the well-known banker and politician Ludwig Bamberger . Rudolph Bamberger, who was of Jewish faith , married Berta, née Seligmann , who came from Bonn . His son Franz Bamberger also became a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1911.

Profession and Politics

Rudolph Bamberger was a banker and ran the Bamberger & Co. bank in Mainz , founded by his father August Bamberger . In 1879, he was a commercial judge at the district court Mainz and became the 1891 Commerce appointed.

In the 19th and 20th electoral periods (1866–1872) Rudolph Bamberger was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the constituency Rheinhessen 6 / Wörrstadt . He was a member of the German Progressive Party .
