Philippe Kourouma

Philippe Kourouma (born November 29, 1932 in Samoé , Guinea ; † February 10, 2009 ) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Nzérékoré (N'Zérékoré) in Guinea.

Life

Philippe Kourouma was ordained a priest on September 8, 1962 . Pope John Paul II appointed him third bishop of Nzérékoré in 1979 . The episcopal ordination donated him on December 15, 1979, the Bishop of Man on the Ivory Coast and later Cardinal Bernard Agré ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Francis Carroll SMA, former Apostolic Nuncio , and Jean-Baptiste Maria Cissé , Bishop of Sikasso in Mali.

Kourouma was President of the Episcopal Conference in Guinea. In 2007, according to his resignation, Can. 401 § 1 by Benedict XVI. granted.
