Philippe Vardon

Philippe Vardon-Raybaud (born September 2, 1980 in Nice ) is a political activist of the Identitarian Movement and an important French representative of the New Right . He is the chairman of the Nissa Rebela Movement .

Life

Philippe Vardon attended the Lycée Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves and then studied Political Science at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis and obtained a Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées (DESS).

Vardon has been chairman of the right-wing extremist movement Nissa Rebela (NR), a sub-movement of the Bloc identitaire in Nice , since 2005 . Before that he was head of the youth organization Jeunesses identitaires des Bloc identitaire with 500 members and co-founded the Bloc identitaire in April 2003. Above all, the movement rejects the increasing “ Islamization ” of French cities and mobilizes against it with xenophobic campaigns. The mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi (UMP) filed a criminal complaint against Nissa Rebela for allegedly “inciting discrimination and racial hatred” . The branch in Nice is larger than other subgroups in France and a. attracts attention through an annual torchlight procession in honor of the popular heroine Catherine Ségurane , in which several hundred people take part.

In the 2008 local elections, he ran for the office of mayor of Nice and received 3 percent of the vote. Vardon publicly supported the candidacy of ex-mayor of Nice Jacques Peyrat , a former member of Front National , in 2012 . In the same year Vardon voted for the chairman of the Front National Marine Le Pen in the presidential election .

He is networked in the new right-wing scene across Europe, so in June 2013 he attended the “Identitarian Idé” congress in Stockholm, organized by the Arktos publishing house . There lectured u. a. Paul Gottfried , Professor of Humanities at Elizabethtown College, and Manuel Ochsenreiter , Editor-in-Chief of First! . In 2013, he gave the right-wing monthly magazine First! an interview. In 2013 he was invited by the new right publisher Götz Kubitschek to the Intermediate Day trade fair in Berlin. In the same year he wrote a foreword to the English edition of Generation Identity. A Declaration of War against the '68ers by Markus Willinger.

Vardon is married with one child.
