At the 2012 24-hour race , Perazzini was the trigger for Anthony Davidson's serious accident . After almost 4 ½ hours of driving, Davidson had taken the lead in the Toyota TS030 Hybrid when he ran into Perazzini in the Ferrari 458 Italia GTC while braking the Mulsanne and tried to lap it. Perazzini underestimated the gap between the much faster Toyota and his Ferrari and returned to the racing line too early. Both vehicles had an accident and broke down.
